What topics are covered in the SAP PowerDesigner Online Test?

PDM: PDM stands for Physical Data Model. It is a visual representation of the database structure that defines how data is stored, organized, and accessed. Measuring PDM skills in this test helps assess the candidate's ability to design and optimize database models.

Generation Template Language (GTL): GTL is a scripting language used in PowerDesigner to automatically generate documents, code, or other artifacts based on the model. Evaluating GTL skills in this test helps gauge the candidate's proficiency in creating customized templates and automating repetitive tasks.

Merging Model: Merging models in PowerDesigner involves combining multiple data models into a single model while resolving conflicts and maintaining data integrity. Assessing merging model skills in this test ensures that the candidate can effectively consolidate and integrate data models from different sources.

Power Designer CDM: Power Designer CDM refers to the Conceptual Data Model, which is an abstract representation of the high-level business concepts and relationships in a database. Measuring Power Designer CDM skills in this test assesses the candidate's ability to translate business requirements into a conceptualized database design.

Logical Data Model: The Logical Data Model (LDM) represents the logical structure of data independent of any specific database management system. Evaluating LDM skills in this test helps determine the candidate's proficiency in designing the architecture and relationships of a database at a logical level.

Physical Data Model: The Physical Data Model (PDM) describes how data is stored and structured within a specific database management system. Assessing PDM skills in this test ensures that the candidate can effectively translate the logical data model into an efficient and optimized physical implementation.

How do I interpret test scores?

The primary thing to keep in mind is that an assessment is an elimination tool, not a selection tool. A skills assessment is optimized to help you eliminate candidates who are not technically qualified for the role, it is not optimized to help you find the best candidate for the role. So the ideal way to use an assessment is to decide a threshold score (typically 55%, we help you benchmark) and invite all candidates who score above the threshold for the next rounds of interview.
