We recently added the feature to enable a user to delete items from their dashboard. The feature was built on the request of a customer who needed it urgently, so the product engineer was the one who designed it, without consulting a designer. Myra is working on her thesis for which she created a scatter plot of the number of teachers and the number of college graduates for cities in Australia. She noticed a positive correlation. Which of these do you think is the probable explanation for this correlation?
A: Teachers encourage people to go to college, so an increase in the number of teachers leads to an increase in the number of college graduates.

B: Some college graduates choose teaching as a profession after graduating, so an increase in the number of college graduates also leads to an increase in the number of teachers.

C: There are more college graduates and teachers in higher income cities, so income is a confounding variable here, make it difficult to prove causation between number of teachers and number of college graduates.

D: Cities with a higher population have more teachers and more college graduates, so the correlation is due to a third variable (population of city).

E: The provided data is insufficient, so it is extremely difficult to establish the reason for the correlation.

F: Most college students choose non-teaching professions after graduating, which explains the correlation.

G: In Australia, college students are encouraged by their teachers to choose teaching as a profession after graduating.

Why you should use Pre-employment Graphic Designer Aptitude Test?

The Graphic Designer Aptitude Test utilizes scenario-based and skill-specific questions to evaluate on-the-job capabilities, going beyond just theoretical understanding. This targeted approach helps you identify candidates with the practical skills needed to succeed in a design role.

This assessment focuses on evaluating key design skills applicable to candidates with 1-3 years of experience. Questions cover understanding and applying visual hierarchy and layout principles. The assessment gauges knowledge of user interface design and best practices for user experience, along with experience in web design and the application of responsive design principles. We also evaluate the ability to create visually engaging and user-friendly interfaces, familiarity with usability testing concepts, and knowledge of user research methods. Finally, the test assesses understanding of color theory and its application to design choices, coupled with the ability to incorporate logical reasoning into design decisions.

Upon completion of the test, you will receive a detailed scorecard for each candidate, providing a breakdown of their performance across various skills and benchmarks. This allows you to quickly identify and shortlist the most promising candidates for your open positions, saving you time and resources in the hiring process.

What topics are covered in the Graphic Designer Aptitude Test?

This assessment measures a candidate’s expertise in layout design, visual hierarchy, and UI/UX principles, which are key to producing user-friendly and visually engaging digital experiences. Layout design guarantees balanced and structured compositions, while visual hierarchy directs user attention with purpose. UI/UX focuses on creating smooth interactions, uniting aesthetics with practicality to boost user satisfaction. These skills directly influence usability, user engagement, and the overall success of digital products, making them significant for any designer.

In addition, the assessment evaluates web design, responsive design, and logical reasoning, which are significant for current digital design practices. Web design assures appealing and functional websites, and responsive design ensures a uniform experience across various devices. Logical reasoning aids designers in systematically solving problems, leading to well-structured, user-focused solutions. Testing these aptitudes confirms that candidates can adapt to evolving design standards and deliver accessible, high-caliber digital experiences.

Lastly, the test gauges critical thinking, which enables designers to examine challenges, consider diverse viewpoints, and innovate successfully. This aptitude is significant for spotting possible problems and improving designs for better outcomes. Together, these capabilities offer a well-rounded assessment of a designer’s capacity to produce impactful, user-friendly, and technically sound digital products. Evaluating these areas ensures candidates are prepared to meet industry demands and deliver outstanding design solutions.
