How we design questions

Test candidates on core Computer Literacy Hiring Test topics

Computer Literacy: Computer literacy refers to the basic knowledge and understanding of computers, including their functions, operating systems, and software applications. This skill is measured in the test to ensure that candidates possess the fundamental knowledge required to navigate and utilize computer systems effectively, which is essential in many modern workplaces.

Excel: Excel is a spreadsheet program developed by Microsoft that allows users to perform calculations, analyze data, and create visual representations of information. This skill is measured in the test as Excel proficiency is highly sought-after in various job roles, particularly those involving data analysis, financial modeling, and project management.

Typing: Typing refers to the ability to input text on a keyboard accurately and efficiently. In the context of the test, measuring typing skills helps assess a candidate's speed and accuracy in entering information, which is crucial in tasks that involve data entry, content creation, and communication through digital platforms.

Data Entry: Data entry involves the accurate and efficient inputting of information into databases, spreadsheets, or other digital systems. This skill is measured in the test to evaluate a candidate's proficiency in handling large volumes of data and ensuring its integrity, which is vital for roles that require maintaining and analyzing datasets, such as administrative, research, and data management positions.

What roles can I use the Computer Literacy Assessment Test for?

  • Software Developer
  • Database Administrator
  • System Administrator
  • Data Analyst

Yes!

The free trial includes one sample technical test (Java/ JavaScript) and one sample aptitude test that you will find in your dashboard when you sign up. You can use it to review the quality of questions and the candidate experience of giving a test on Adaface.

How do I interpret test scores?

The primary thing to keep in mind is that an assessment is an elimination tool, not a selection tool. A skills assessment is optimized to help you eliminate candidates who are not technically qualified for the role, it is not optimized to help you find the best candidate for the role. So the ideal way to use an assessment is to decide a threshold score (typically 55%, we help you benchmark) and invite all candidates who score above the threshold for the next rounds of interview.

I'm a candidate. Can I try a practice test?

No. Unfortunately, we do not support practice tests at the moment. However, you can use our sample questions for practice.
