Consider a scenario where you have a .NET application that needs to load different configurations for different components running in separate AppDomains. You have the following code structure:
 image
The `ConfigManager` class is designed to load and store configurations for different domains. What will be the output of this program, assuming `ConfigA.xml` and `ConfigB.xml` contain distinct settings?
A: Config in DomainA: [Settings from ConfigA.xml], Config in DomainB: [Settings from ConfigB.xml]
B: Config in DomainA: null, Config in DomainB: null
C: Config in DomainA: [Settings from ConfigB.xml], Config in DomainB: [Settings from ConfigA.xml]
D: A runtime exception is thrown due to cross-domain operation.
E: Config in DomainA: [Settings from ConfigA.xml], Config in DomainB: [Settings from ConfigA.xml]
F: The output is unpredictable and depends on the runtime environment.

Consider the following .NET C# code snippet implementing IDisposable pattern:
 image
What is true about the garbage collection and resource management in this code?
A: The finalizer will always be called when the object is garbage collected.
B: The `Dispose` method is only called when explicitly invoked.
C: Managed resources will be freed in the finalizer.
D: Unmanaged resources are only freed if `Dispose` is called with `true`.
E: The `GC.SuppressFinalize` method prevents the finalizer from being called.
F: The `using` statement ensures that unmanaged resources are always freed.

This `RemoteObject` class is hosted in one application domain and accessed from another. Considering the lease settings (InitialLeaseTime, SponsorshipTimeout, RenewOnCallTime), what will happen if a client accesses the `GetData` method every 3 seconds?
A: The object will be disconnected after 5 seconds, regardless of the calls.
B: The lease will be renewed, and the object remains accessible as long as it's called every 3 seconds.
C: The object will be disconnected after 7 seconds, even with the regular calls.
D: An exception will be thrown due to lease timeout.
E: The lease will be renewed indefinitely without disconnection.
F: The object will be disconnected only if there is a call after 5 seconds but within 7 seconds.

Solve
We want to register students for the next semester. All students have a receipt which shows the amount pending for the previous semester. A positive amount (or zero) represents that the student has paid extra fees, and a negative amount represents that they have pending fees to be paid. The students are in a queue for the registration. We want to arrange the students in a way such that the students who have a positive amount on the receipt get registered first as compared to the students who have a negative amount. We are given a queue in the form of an array containing the pending amount.
For example, if the initial queue is [20, 70, -40, 30, -10], then the final queue will be [20, 70, 30, -40, -10]. Note that the sequence of students should not be changed while arranging them unless required to meet the condition.
⚠️⚠️⚠️ Note:
- The first line of the input is the length of the array. The second line contains all the elements of the array.
- The input is already parsed into an array of "strings" and passed to a function. You will need to convert string to integer/number type inside the function.
- You need to "print" the final result (not return it) to pass the test cases.

For the example discussed above, the input will be:
5
20 70 -40 30 -10

Your code needs to print the following to the standard output:
20 70 30 -40 -10

Visitors Count
Strings
Logic
Solve
A manager hires a staff member to keep a record of the number of men, women, and children visiting the museum daily. The staff will note W if any women visit, M for men, and C for children. You need to write code that takes the string that represents the visits and prints the count of men, woman and children. The sequencing should be in decreasing order.
Example:

Input:
WWMMWWCCC

Expected Output:
4W3C2M

Explanation:
‘W’ has the highest count, then ‘C’, then ‘M’.
⚠️⚠️⚠️ Note:
- The input is already parsed and passed to a function.
- You need to "print" the final result (not return it) to pass the test cases.
- If the input is- “MMW”, then the expected output is "2M1W" since there is no ‘C’.
- If any of them have the same count, the output should follow this order - M, W, C.

Test candidates on core C#, .NET & SQL Hiring Test topics

C# Syntax Basics: C# Syntax Basics refers to the fundamental rules and principles that govern the structure and composition of the C# programming language. It includes concepts such as variable declaration, data types, operators, conditionals, loops, and basic input/output. Measuring this skill is important to assess a candidate's foundational understanding of C# syntax, which is crucial for writing correct and efficient code.

C# OOPs: C# OOPs (Object-Oriented Programming) encompasses the principles and techniques used to design and implement software using objects, classes, inheritance, encapsulation, and polymorphism in C#. Assessing this skill is necessary to evaluate a candidate's ability to create modular and reusable code, as well as their comprehension of object-oriented design principles.

C# Data structures: C# Data structures involve the organization, storage, and manipulation of data in memory. It includes concepts such as arrays, lists, queues, stacks, dictionaries, and linked lists. Testing this skill is important to gauge a candidate's proficiency in selecting and utilizing appropriate data structures for efficient data management and algorithmic problem-solving.

.NET MVC: .NET MVC (Model-View-Controller) is a framework for building scalable and maintainable web applications using the Model-View-Controller architectural pattern. Evaluating this skill is essential to assess a candidate's understanding of the MVC pattern, their capability to develop web applications with separation of concerns, and their knowledge of the ASP.NET ecosystem.

.NET API Development: .NET API Development entails creating robust and secure APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) using the .NET framework. Testing this skill helps determine a candidate's ability to design, develop, and deploy APIs that enable seamless communication between different software systems and services, following industry best practices.

SQL CRUD Operations: SQL CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) Operations refer to the fundamental operations performed on a database: creating new records, retrieving existing records, updating records, and deleting records. Measuring this skill is important to assess a candidate's proficiency in writing efficient SQL queries to manipulate and manage data, which is a crucial aspect of database-driven applications.

SQL Joins and Indexes: SQL Joins and Indexes are methods used to combine data from multiple database tables and optimize query performance, respectively. Evaluating this skill helps determine a candidate's understanding of how to efficiently retrieve related data from multiple tables using join operations, as well as their knowledge of indexing techniques for improving overall database performance.

C# Programming: C# Programming assesses a candidate's overall proficiency in the C# programming language, including their understanding of advanced concepts, best practices, and their ability to solve complex problems using C#. How do I interpret test scores?

The primary thing to keep in mind is that an assessment is an elimination tool, not a selection tool. A skills assessment is optimized to help you eliminate candidates who are not technically qualified for the role, it is not optimized to help you find the best candidate for the role. So the ideal way to use an assessment is to decide a threshold score (typically 55%, we help you benchmark) and invite all candidates who score above the threshold for the next rounds of interview.

I'm a candidate. Can I try a practice test?

No. Unfortunately, we do not support practice tests at the moment. However, you can use our sample questions for practice.
