JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C# & SQL Online Test

The JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C# & SQL Test uses scenario-based MCQs to evaluate candidates on their proficiency in JavaScript programming language, front-end web development using HTML/CSS markup, C# programming language for back-end development, and SQL database management. The test assesses candidates' understanding of topics such as object-oriented programming, server-side scripting, database connections, SQL queries, and database design principles. Candidates are evaluated on their ability to use these technologies to develop interactive and scalable web applications, interact with databases, design database schemas, and write optimized and secure SQL queries for data manipulation and retrieval.

Registration Queue

Solve
We want to register students for the next semester. All students have a receipt which shows the amount pending for the previous semester. A positive amount (or zero) represents that the student has paid extra fees, and a negative amount represents that they have pending fees to be paid. The students are in a queue for the registration. We want to arrange the students in a way such that the students who have a positive amount on the receipt get registered first as compared to the students who have a negative amount. We are given a queue in the form of an array containing the pending amount.
For example, if the initial queue is [20, 70, -40, 30, -10], then the final queue will be [20, 70, 30, -40, -10]. Note that the sequence of students should not be changed while arranging them unless required to meet the condition.
⚠️⚠️⚠️ Note:
- The first line of the input is the length of the array. The second line contains all the elements of the array.
- The input is already parsed into an array of "strings" and passed to a function. You will need to convert string to integer/number type inside the function.
- You need to "print" the final result (not return it) to pass the test cases.

For the example discussed above, the input will be:
5
20 70 -40 30 -10

Your code needs to print the following to the standard output:
20 70 30 -40 -10

Visitors Count
Strings
Logic
Solve
A manager hires a staff member to keep a record of the number of men, women, and children visiting the museum daily. The staff will note W if any women visit, M for men, and C for children. You need to write code that takes the string that represents the visits and prints the count of men, woman and children. The sequencing should be in decreasing order.
Example:

Input:
WWMMWWCCC

Expected Output:
4W3C2M

Explanation:
‘W’ has the highest count, then ‘C’, then ‘M’.
⚠️⚠️⚠️ Note:
- The input is already parsed and passed to a function.
- You need to "print" the final result (not return it) to pass the test cases.
- If the input is- “MMW”, then the expected output is "2M1W" since there is no ‘C’.
- If any of them have the same count, the output should follow this order - M, W, C.

Test candidates on core JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C# & SQL Hiring Test topics

JavaScript Fundamentals: JavaScript Fundamentals refers to the core concepts, syntax, and basic functionality of the JavaScript programming language. It includes topics like variables, data types, operators, control flow, functions, and arrays. Measuring this skill is important as it forms the foundation of JavaScript development and demonstrates the candidate's understanding of the language.

ES6 Syntax: ES6 Syntax refers to the latest version of JavaScript, also known as ECMAScript 2015. It introduces new features and syntax improvements to make JavaScript code more concise and expressive. Measuring this skill helps assess a candidate's familiarity with modern JavaScript development practices and their ability to use advanced language features.

Async/ Await in JS: Async/ Await in JavaScript is a programming pattern that simplifies asynchronous code execution. It allows developers to write asynchronous functions in a synchronous style, making the code easier to read and maintain. Measuring this skill is important as it tests a candidate's understanding of handling asynchronous operations, such as API requests or data fetching, in JavaScript.

HTML/ CSS Basics: HTML/ CSS Basics refer to the fundamental concepts and syntax of HTML and CSS, the building blocks of web development. It includes topics like HTML tags, CSS selectors, styling elements, and creating layouts. Measuring this skill is essential as it assesses a candidate's ability to create and style basic web pages using HTML and CSS.

DOM Handling with JS: DOM Handling with JavaScript is the manipulation and interaction with the Document Object Model (DOM) using JavaScript. It involves selecting elements, modifying their properties, adding or removing elements, and responding to user events. Measuring this skill is crucial as it evaluates a candidate's proficiency in dynamically manipulating web pages and creating interactive user interfaces using JavaScript.

C# Syntax: C# Syntax refers to the rules and structure of the C# programming language. It includes topics like variables, data types, control flow, functions, classes, and object-oriented programming concepts. Measuring this skill is important as it tests a candidate's understanding of the C# language and their ability to write clean and efficient code.

C# OOPs: C# OOPs (Object-Oriented Programming) involves designing and implementing object-oriented solutions using C# language features like classes, inheritance, polymorphism, and encapsulation. Measuring this skill is crucial as it assesses a candidate's ability to write well-structured and maintainable code using object-oriented principles.

SQL CRUD operations: SQL CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations represent the basic database operations performed using SQL (Structured Query Language). It includes inserting data into a database, retrieving data from a database, updating existing data, and deleting data. Measuring this skill is important as it evaluates a candidate's ability to work with databases and perform essential data manipulation tasks using SQL.

SQL Joins and Indexes: SQL Joins and Indexes are techniques used for efficient and optimized data retrieval from relational databases. SQL Joins allow combining data from multiple tables based on specified conditions, while Indexes enhance the database's search and retrieval performance. Measuring this skill is crucial as it tests a candidate's understanding of advanced SQL concepts and their ability to optimize queries for better database performance.

Coding: Coding skill refers to the ability to write clean, efficient, and functional code in the chosen programming language. Measuring this skill helps assess a candidate's expertise in translating problem statements into working code, applying programming concepts, and following best practices to produce reliable software solutions.

Have questions about the JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C# & SQL Hiring Test?

How does pricing work?

You can check out our pricing plans.

Can I customize the test?

Yes, absolutely. Custom assessments are set up within 48 hours based on your job description, and will include questions on all must-have skills you specify. Here's a quick guide on how you can request a custom test. You can also customize a test by uploading your own questions.

Can I combine multiple skills into one test?

Yes, absolutely. Custom assessments are set up based on your job description, and will include questions on all must-have skills you specify. Here's a quick guide on how you can request a custom test.

What roles can I use the JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C# & SQL Test for?

Here are few roles for which we recommend this test:

  • Full-stack Developer
  • C# Developer
  • Database Administrator
  • C# Application Developer
Can I see a sample test, or do you have a free trial?

Yes!

The free trial includes one sample technical test (Java/ JavaScript) and one sample aptitude test that you will find in your dashboard when you sign up. You can use it to review the quality of questions and the candidate experience of giving a test on Adaface.

You can preview any of the 500+ tests and see the sample questions to decide if it would be a good fit for your requirements.

How do I interpret test scores?

The primary thing to keep in mind is that an assessment is an elimination tool, not a selection tool. A skills assessment is optimized to help you eliminate candidates who are not technically qualified for the role, it is not optimized to help you find the best candidate for the role. So the ideal way to use an assessment is to decide a threshold score (typically 55%, we help you benchmark) and invite all candidates who score above the threshold for the next rounds of interview.

I'm a candidate. Can I try a practice test?

No. Unfortunately, we do not support practice tests at the moment. However, you can use our sample questions for practice.
