The UX Researcher typically reports to the UX Research Manager or Head of Design.

UX Researcher Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research using a wide range of qualitative and some quantitative methods.
  • Work closely with designers and product teams to identify research topics and plan studies.
  • Analyze and interpret data to understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors.
  • Present findings and actionable insights to key stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Collaborate with designers and developers to turn user data into actionable product/service features.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends in user experience research and design.
  • Advocate for the user in all aspects of product design and development.
  • Work to improve the overall user experience of the product.

UX Researcher Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Social Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a UX Researcher or similar role.
  • Experience with a variety of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques.
  • Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and manage workloads.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Familiarity with UX design tools and software is a plus.
