UX Researcher Job Description

We are seeking a skilled UX Researcher to join our product development team. As a UX Researcher, you will be responsible for understanding user behaviors, needs, and motivations through observation techniques, task analysis, and other feedback methodologies. This role requires a deep empathy for users, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate insights into design decisions that enhance user experience.

A UX Researcher plays a vital role in creating a user-centric approach to product design and development. They are responsible for conducting primary research, exploring user behaviors and motivations, and working with designers, product managers, and engineers to translate findings into actionable design insights.

The UX Researcher typically reports to the UX Research Manager or Head of Design.

• Conduct user research using a wide range of qualitative and some quantitative methods.
• Work closely with designers and product teams to identify research topics and plan studies.
• Analyze and interpret data to understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors.
• Present findings and actionable insights to key stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
• Collaborate with designers and developers to turn user data into actionable product/service features.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends in user experience research and design.
• Advocate for the user in all aspects of product design and development.
• Work to improve the overall user experience of the product.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Social Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a UX Researcher or similar role.
• Experience with a variety of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques.
• Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting and manage workloads.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically.
• Familiarity with UX design tools and software is a plus.
