Scrum Master Job Description Template/Brief

We need an experienced scrum master to supervise and guide scrum teams. The scrum master will ensure that development teams adhere to scrum framework ideals and agile practises, coaching and inspiring teams to improve procedures, managing meetings and decision-making processes, and removing team barriers.

Scrum Master Responsibilities

  • Guide and coach the Scrum Team on how to leverage Agile techniques and concepts to provide our customers with high-quality goods and services
  • Raise team performance to a high level by identifying areas of strength and growth and using suitable coaching and development strategies
  • Ensure that Scrum is understood and that the team follows Scrum practices and principles
  • Coaches the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge, and effective communication both internally and externally while working within the Scrum team
  • Collaborate with the Scrum Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making, as well as to assist organisational project or product teams
  • Work with other Scrum Masters to overcome team bottlenecks to improve the efficacy of Scrum implementation in the organisation
  • Collaborate with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to advance in the job
  • Assist in the promotion and enhancement of Agile techniques across the business
  • Lead and support all scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective
  • Serve as a leader who trains and supports Agile teams assigned to mostly Business as Usual (BAU) work, as well as significant department initiatives and appropriate elements of corporate projects and initiatives
