Information Architect Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Information Architect to join our team. The Information Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing information structures and navigation systems for our digital platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of user behavior, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to create intuitive, user-friendly content frameworks that enhance user experience.

An Information Architect plays a crucial role in designing the structural foundation of digital platforms. They focus on organizing, structuring, and labeling content effectively so that users can find information easily. This role involves close collaboration with UX designers, content strategists, and web developers.

The Information Architect typically reports to the UX Design Manager or Head of Digital Strategy.

• Develop information architecture for digital platforms, including websites, mobile apps, and other online interfaces.
• Analyze user needs and business goals to create intuitive and user-centered information structures.
• Collaborate with UX designers to create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and sitemaps.
• Conduct usability testing and user research to refine information architecture.
• Develop labeling and navigation schemes to guide users through digital content.
• Document the information architecture and communicate it to the development team.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in information architecture and UX design.
• Ensure that the digital platforms are accessible and usable for all users.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Science, UX Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Information Architect, UX Designer, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of UX principles, information architecture, and user-centered design.
• Experience with UX design tools and wireframing software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into easy-to-understand frameworks.
